July 2006 Delegation
The Summer 2006 delegation was hosted by FENSUAGRO, the national peasant-farmer federation. In addition to meetings with the National Executive Committee of FENSUAGRO, delegates met with Jose Fernando, the Secretary of International Relations for USO; leaders of the newly formed banana workers' union, SINTRAGRANCOL; leaders in the ACEU, a national university student federation; and members of the national secretariat of the FEU, the Federation of University Students. The delegation also met with many regional and local organizations throughout their time in Colombia, in addition to spending a lot of time with rank-and-file trade unionists in the cities and peasant-farmers in the countryside.
The delegation visited Bogotá, Pasto (Dept. of Nariño), Popayan (Dept. of Cauca), Santa Marta on the Carribean coast, and the department of Santander.
